March is here and we have a lot to celebrate! March is Women’s History Month and National Crochet Month. The 2nd is Dr. Seuss Birthday, the 15th Hinckley Buzzard Day, the 17th St. Patrick’s Day and the 20th is the first day of Spring!
Included in the March Kit:
Dr. Seuss Truffula Tree craft – In celebration of Dr. Seuss’ Birthday, we’ll be making a craft using a popsicle stick, which you can color or decorate with your own supplies, then glue the included pompom to the top.
St. Patrick’s Day Leprechaun Trap – Use your imagination with this S.T.E.M. project to create a trap to catch your very own Leprechaun! Use your own supplies or the items in your craft kit. Included is a plastic bowl you can decorate with markers, stickers, or leave plain, a popsicle stick, bait ( plastic coins), and 2 pixie sticks filled with powdered candy (one for you and one for the Leprechaun) to lure him into the trap.
S.T.E.M. Sundial Craft – Years ago people were able to tell time by observing the sun and the shadows it made. Use this activity to learn about the Earth’s rotation and its effect on shadows. Paint or color the back of the included plate or leave it plain. Next, follow the instructions on the clock face page to create your sundial. Once your sundial is complete set it outside on the ground on a sunny day to watch the sun create a shadow on the clock face. You can hold down your sundial by placing stones along the outer edge of the plate.
