On Monday, August 21st, a portion of the United States will witness a total solar eclipse. Ohio residents will experience a partial eclipse where 83% of the sun will be blocked by the moon.
Bring your blankets or lawn chairs, sunscreen, and bottled water (to stay hydrated while waiting in the sun) and join us in the backyard of the Central Library for a Solar Eclipse Viewing Party!
At 2 pm we will cover some basic safety rules for viewing the eclipse. Solar viewing eye glasses will be available while supplies last. Several viewing stations will be set-up for attendees to try in addition to some extra activities for the kids. The eclipse will reach it’s maximum coverage of the sun at 2:31 pm.
All ages welcome! Registration is not required.
