Life Sized Clue

Join us at the Central Library for Life Sized Clue July 11th from 5-8pm!

Become Mr. Plum or Miss Scarlett. Work alone or with others to determine who the culprit is. Use your skills at deception or deduction to find out whodunit! Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to this mystery dinner party.

Registration is required.

Get in the Game Teen Gaming Program

Attention Teens grades 6-12 and ages 11 – 18! July 9th @1pm

Stop by the library and connect with friends over your favorite games during this program.

Bring your favorite board, table-top or gaming system game from home.

Connect wirelessly and play your favorite RPG.

Use one of our laptop computers to learn more about online gaming.

We will have MinecraftEDU with a dedicated server, Wii and XBox1 gaming on the big screen!

If you are bringing a game from home, let us know! Call the library or stop by to register.

Teen Advisory Board

This is an opportunity to volunteer at the library and earn community service hours.

TAB members are highly motivated, responsible and dedicated to libraries and public service. You will learn skills to plan fun library activities and events for the teens in your community. Interviews will take place every year in the fall and consist of the applicant planning a teen library event. You may download the application and return it to the library or come in to the help desk for a copy. Teen Read Week October 14-20, 2012

Teens can participate in teen read week this year by coming into the library for a photo session  featuring their fan art at the central library on September 29, 2012 10am-5pm. Also there will be a read-a-thon on October 13, 2012. We will read aloud and also have dedicated quiet reading time. We will have games going on throughout the day and also have pizza and drinks (teens can bring snacks and drinks too). We will set a reading goal and if reached, we’ll have a party* to celebrate on November 10, 2012 after hours at the library! For more information or to register, call 330-674-5972.

FAN ART CONTEST FOR TEENS

Teens, do you have a favorite book? If so, how would you feel about making art based on the book? How would you feel if this art could win you a $50.00 Amazon gift card? Or signed books by authors like Beth Revis, author of Across the Universe, or Veronica roth, author of Divergent*.  If you like to, or think you might like to create an art piece based on your favorite book, comic,  books on CD or digital players, then this is the contest for you. It can be any book. As long as you make your piece original and submit it before the deadline of September 30, 2012 you can be entered for your chance to win. This is a nation wide program but your friends and family can go online to vote for your piece!

Teen program August 18, 2012

Teens 12-18 can join us for a movie based on one of their favorite best selling books. After, we will have activities based on the book and movie in which teens can compete for prizes. Knowledge and physical skill tests will determine the winner. There will be team events also. The movie begins at 1:00pm. All activities will follow the film directly.
