November is the month of celebrations and special events. Below are just a few you may want to celebrate!
November 3rd, Election Day— This election year is very important as citizens visit the poles to place their vote for the leader of our country. You can hold your own election, too. Take a family vote on what movie to watch, book to read or what to have for your next meal. Visit this link for some great info from PBSKids on voting and the election.
November 11th, Veterans Day—November 11th is the day that we honor all veterans from all branches of the military. Be sure to visit our blog post for a great kid’s video on Veterans Day. See our November Google Slide below for more information on Veterans Day.
November 13th, World Kindness Day—Take the time today to think about how you can be kind to others and then do it.
November 16th, National Button Day—Whether is the buttons on your clothes, a jar of buttons from your great-grandma or buttons that you where that state a message, this is the day to celebrate. Enjoy the enclosed button we’ve provided to help celebrate this day.
November 19th, Play Monopoly Day— November 19th is the day everyone celebrates this iconic board game. The game was invented by Elizabeth Magie in 1902. Since 1935, an estimated 500 million people have played the game. Make a plan to play Monopoly with your friends or family today!
November 26th, Thanksgiving Day— On the fourth Thursday of November, people in the United States celebrate Thanksgiving. The first Thanksgiving took place in 1621 between the Puritan settlers and the Wampanoag people. Visit our blog to find out more about Thanksgiving in the United States.
