Gate at the Arnold Cemetery

Arnold Cemetery (aka St John’s Cemetery) is in a serene location of TR 362, where TR 618 intersects it.  The Amish Spring Meadow School is located across the street.

Coordinates: 40.612879, -81.799537

I visited this cemetery on a gorgeous fall day in September.  The leaves were just starting to turn, and there was a slight crispness in the air.  The children in Spring Meadow School were out playing baseball.

Little Chestnut Ridge Cemetery aka Albert Mast Farm Cemetery

Chestnut Ridge Cemetery

Entrance to Chestnut Ridge Cemetery

This is the beautiful entrance to the tiny Chestnut Ridge Cemetery on SR 39.  You could pass by this little cemetery without a single notice if you weren’t looking for it.  It is on a small hill next to a house.  The owners of the house seem to keep this area tended.  I knocked on their door to find out about visiting, but no one answered.  You will need to park in their driveway to get to the cemetery, but the driveway is pretty wide so you should be out of the way.

Here is the Google Map of the cemetery.

The coordinates are 40.546124, -81.748803

The stones can be found on Find a Grave.

Accidental Cemetery~Pleasant Grove

Liberty Gospel ChurchThis cemetery was on my flooded out detour route.  A few weeks ago we got several downpours over a few days that flooded our area.  I live in a valley that floods easily, so I had to take a detour to the library. As I traveled township road 35 in Killbuck, I noticed a little church cemetery by the road.   I kept going because I didn’t want to take pictures in a downpour~I’m crazy but not that crazy.    When I got to the library, I looked up the cemetery location, and our resources indicated that it was the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

The coordinates for this cemetery are 40.492957, -81.949618

The stone pictures are on Find a Grave.

A majority of the stones in this cemetery rest under the beautiful, cascading pine tree branches~a very peaceful cemetery indeed!KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA

KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA

The Bethany Mennonite Church Cemetery is located on a lazy residential street on CR 245 in Prairie Township. The large Prairie Township cemetery is just down the street.

This cemetery is next to the church, as you can see in the picture below.

The coordinates are 40.64946, -81.92389.    Look for the stones on Find a Grave.

Take a cue from the cows next door and reflect and listen to the birds on a beautiful day in June at this quiet cemetery.

Plum Run Cemetery

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Plum Run Cemetery is almost out of the county near Loudonville.  The coordinates for this cemetery are 40.655227, -82.201897

It is located by the Washington Township garage.  You can park in the parking lot next to the salt garage.

Although this is a fairly small cemetery, there were several stones with symbols on them.  One symbol that stood out the most here was the bird.

A bird with Dum Tacet Clamat (Though Silent, He Speaks)  The bird is a symbol of eternal life, spirituality, Messenger of God, or peace. There was evidence of real birds, too ; )
