Lunch and a Cemetery Goes to Farmerstown Mennonite Cemetery

In a little town called Farmerstown in Clark Township, there is a little Mennonite cemetery  on township road 181.  I grabbed an Earl Grey Tea and granola bar from Jitters and headed out.  I know; I see a lunch pattern forming, too.  I was listening to Joni Mitchell’s Hits as I drove SR 39 east to SR 557 south.  Take that road through Charm and on into Farmerstown.  You will pass Farmerstown Furniture and turn south on township road 181 at Farmerstown Upholstery.  There is also a school across the road.  When I was there, the Amish students were having a snowball fight, and down the road there were two snow people dressed in Amish clothes.  This will not help you find the road, especially during the summer, but I thought it was cute.

The coordinates are

40.489040, -81.727809

The cemetery is in a field to the right shortly after you turn onto 181.  The drive looks like a driveway to the house below, so pull over to the side.  It is also difficult to pull out because this hill blocks the view down the road.   Make sure to take sneakers or boots because there are no paths and you have to step up to it from the road.

You can find the pictures of the stones on find a grave.
