Celebrate your love of books and food by joining us for Books2Eat, our first Edible Book Festival! This event is part of the International Edible Book Festival, which takes place every April all around the world. Participants use food to portray a book cover, title, character, or anything to do with a book. While some people like to make their entries from cake, edible books can be made out of any food item (candy, packaged food, fresh produce, baked goods, etc.).
Entries will be judged based on:
- Creativity
- Humor
- Artistic Effort
- How well entries interpret the general book theme of the festival
Need some inspiration? Check out our display of edible book examples at the library or Google “edible book festival” for more ideas.
Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:
- Best Youth Entry (age 10-17)
- Best Individual Entry (age 18 and up)
- Best Family/Group Entry
- Best Library Staff Entry
- Best Pun/Play on Words
- Most Creative
- People’s Choice
Winners will be selected by a panel of judges (except for People’s Choice which will be determined by a combination of public and Facebook votes).
