Kids ages 3 – 12 are invited to register for Every Hero Has a Story! Summer Reading Program! Read 2 hours each week and earn incentives. Registered participants will also have a chance to win weekly prizes such as tickets to Baylor Beach, Akron RubberDucks game, books and more! Earn tickets for the grand prize drawing by reading beyond the required 2 hours. Registration begins June 1st at the Central Library.

- Kick-off Summer Reading with a visit from Jeff Nicholas and learn to draw! Ice cream will be available for purchase before, during and after the program.
- Tues., June 9th @ 6:30 pm–Outback Ray’s Amazing Animal Show!
- Join Outback Ray and his amazing exotic animals! Ice cream will be available for purchase before, during and after the program.
- Tues., June 16th from 6 to 7:30 pm-Our Tree Names Steve StoryWalk(tm)
- Follow the trail of story pages. Make a craft and learn about the natural history of trees. The StoryWalk™ Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition and the Kellogg Hubbard Library.
- Wed., June 24th @ 11 am-Armstrong Air & Space Museum: Super Astronauts!
- Learn about Ohio’s astronaut heroes and see a real space suit!
- Wed., July 1st @ 11 am-Every Hero Has a Story!
- Storyteller Ellen Ford will share songs and stories about pioneer heroes.
