2010 Summer Reading Program

Listen to the broadcast here.

Hello, this is Arlene Radden, director of the Holmes County District Public Library for The Voice of Holmes County. com.

Make a splash this summer at the library. This summer all library locations will present a summer reading program for all ages. Make a Splash –Read! is the theme for this year’s program for children, teens and adults.

Children can complete a summer reading journal and for every book read, they can enter to win prizes.

Teens can go to the library’s web site and check out the teen page to sign up for the online program. If you don’t have access to a computer, you can still participate by picking up the forms at the library.

Adults can also join in the fun by reading good books and turning in drawing tickets to win a prize.

Registration has already begun. The program will go from June 7 to July 17.

It’s summer and that means that it is time to relax and have some fun reading a good book. The library has lots of good books to take to the beach or the hammock in the backyard.

If you don’t find what you want on our shelves, take advantage of our Interlibrary loan service to order any book you are interested in. Most books can be delivered to the library of your choice in a few days or less.

The library can also help with any research needs you have this summer. So if you need help with a gardening project or want to find a recipe for macaroni salad to feed 50 people, just call the library to get the information you need.

So beat the heat this summer by putting the library on your must do list and come in and chill out at the library.

Thanks for listening. This has been Arlene Radden, director of the Holmes County District Public Library for The Voice of Holmes County. Com.
