Coming up at the Holmes County Library

There will be a College Planning program for Home School students at the Holmes County District Public Library Main Branch in Millersburg on Tuesday, January 27th at 1:30 pm.  Come learn more about finding a school, selecting a major, exploring financial aid and completing the FAFSA. 

This program is offered by the Holmes County College Access Program.  It is free and open to the public.

Silent Auction Results:

JulieHood Julie Hood was top bidder on four beautiful Christmas trees at the Friends of the Library Table-top Tree silent auction held at the main library in Millersburg.  The group raised over $700.00 which will greatly benefit all the libraries of Holmes County.  

Many thanks to all who donated a tree or bid on one!

The HCDPL Writing Contest Judging Committee would like to announce the winners of the 2nd Annual Holmes County District Public Library Writing Contest:

 

Teen Category Winner

Eva Ruth Miller from Holmesville with "Alex at the Library"

 

Adult Category Winners - Tied for 1st Place

Lori Priebe from Big Prairie with "The Dream"

Joylee Goff-Watson from Nashville with "At the Library"

Author Visit

  Dr. Holly Troche and Marilou Suszko 006  Marilou Souszko, author of Farms and Foods of Ohio: From Garden Gate to Dinner Plate, and culinary instructor farmbookvisited the Holmes County Library on Tuesday, September 30th.    

She introduced the audience to many specialty farms all across Ohio.  The program was educational, interesting and made everyone hungry for good home grown food and cheeses!

It also sparked an awareness of helping farmers keep their farms.  All in all it was a great evening!

clip_image002[4]Tom and Jeanne Patterson of Millersburg are smiling because Tom won the grand prize for the adult Summer Reading Program at the Holmes County Library in Millersburg.  The grand prize was a dinner for two at The Inn at Honey Run, which was generously donated by The Inn. 


One hundred and eighty-three adults signed up for the six-week program and read over two thousand books!
