fall at the Library....
By webmaster @ 11:45 AM :: 384 Views :: 0 Comments :: Article Rating :: Teens

twilight Twilight movie comes out November 21st.  Which means it's twilight month at the library!!! at least for the taylor_lautnerteen section.  we're going to be having a month-long Team Edward vs. Team JacobRobertPattinson  showdown!!!  come out to the library to pick up the pin for YOUR favorite team and vote on the Twilight Wall ~

in other programming news..... due to popular opinion, Saturday book clubs have been canceled.  also, the webzine.  I tried, but it turns out you guys have too much reading and writing to do for school to be interested in more reading and writing.  which is understandable.  so we'll stick to the good ol' movies and games.  and TAB.  Aaaaaand I'm thinking of trying our hands at cooking something up on the Monday before Thanksgiving... Let me know what you think about that or if you have any ideas.  leave a comment or email me jarnold@holmeslib.org .  See you Soon!

Schedule of upcoming events:

Game Nights - Nov. 3, Dec. 8

Movie Nights -  Nov. 10

TAB Nights -  Nov. 17, Dec. 15.

SEPTEMBER IS UPON US!!!
By webmaster @ 3:11 PM :: 507 Views :: 2 Comments :: Article Rating :: Teens

Teen programming is back in action!!!  i'm very excited, for many reasons....First, I hope that everyone had a wonderful summer. Now it's time to have your fun at the library!  New this school year - a video game collection!! I will start buying video games for the teen section this very weekend, which you will be able to check out (they will be on the cart in the teen dept.)! Also, I FINALLY got wiie1 our Wii for Game Nights!!!! I know, I’m excited too. In other new-news, there will be a monthly book club (Saturday at the Cafe) at the bookworms café just for you middle school / high school people. You’ll even get to decide which books we will read every month. Make sure you come to the first meeting on September 6th to cast your votes. Another new item - we are going to start an online magazine / newsletter / whatever written ONLY by Holmes County teens. Make sure you come to the first ‘planning’ meeting for that, when we will decide a name for the zine, a look for the site, and determine who will be writing WHAT for the first issue. So, as you can see, there’s lots of new, exciting stuff going on at the library. I can’t wait to see everyone !!!

Schedule of upcoming events:

Game Nights - Sept 8, Oct. 6, Nov. 3, Dec. 8

Movie Nights - Sept 15, Oct. 20, Nov. 10

TAB/Zine Nights - Sept 22, Oct. 27, Nov. 17, Dec. 15

DIY Nights - Sept 29 (scrapbooking) Nov 24 (?)

Book club days - 1st Saturday each month: Sept 6, Oct. 4, Nov. 1, Dec. 6
